Detroit Lions Fans to Nickelback: "You Suck!"

Few things in America are as cherished as Thanksgiving football. It's one of the NFL's best weekends, especially for Detroit, where they always host a game on that Thursday. It's a tradition that goes back to 1934.
However, things are not well in the Motor City, despite the Lions being off to their best start in decades. The problem is the band signed to perform the halftime show.
Fans have launched a petition demanding that Nickelback be replaced. I quote:
This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the US to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback? Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages and concessions? This is completely unfair to those of us who purchased tickets to the game. At least the people watching at home can mute their TVs. The Lions ought to think about their fans before choosing such an awful band to play at halftime.

- "I'd rather drink bleach than listen to Nickelback and have them associated with Detroit."
- "Nickelbacks' music doesn't even reflect a musical genre that has ever been popular in the city. It is not rock and roll, its a nasty hybrid of the worst manufactured music on the planet."
- "Why am I signing [this petition]? It's good for the human race."
Last I checked, there were more than 21,000 signatures on the petition. This could get ugly.
By the way, guess which band has been signed to perform at halftime at the Grey Cup in Vancouver? Uh-huh.

I would gladly sign this petition, even if I live nowhere near Detroit!
I think I just may hate Nickelback more than Limp Bizkit (sorry Alan!) ...but than again, they do give each other a fierce competition on my "Worst band ever" list!

So they're using the same-week Detroit game as a tune-up for our Grey Cup?
It's funny that there is so much hate for them. Last time they played Detroit it was SOLD OUT! I'm not a fan by any means......but this protest is unreal!
