Late Music News for Thursday

Canada finally gets 90-second song previews on iTunes.  (When did that happen?)  Go ahead and take a look.  I'll wait.

Jon Stewart will host a special program on the SiriusXM channel Lithium on September 24th--the 20th anniversary of the release of Nevermand--with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and producer Butch Vig.

It's official:  Amy Winehouse's Back to Black is now the biggest-selling album of the 21st century in the UK, moving 3.26 million copies, edging out Back to Bedlam from James Blunt. No word on how well AC/DC's Back in Black is doing.  Nor have we heard about Van Morrison's Back on Top.

This is clever.  A Latvian band has allowed each song on its new album to create its own artwork.  That sounds weird until you see it explained with a video.

Meanwhile, Rachel Yamagata created the art for her new album on her iPhone.

Senior Metal God.  Rob Halford for Judas Priest turned 60 today.

The dude won't leave it alone:  Don Henley of the Eagles thinks that Google "aids and abets criminals."

Me and Amy Lee of Evanescence at a listening party for the new album earlier this week.
