Look at the Calendar. Wednesday is "Rush Day"

Although various nations, government departments, universities and individuals may quibble about how to write out a date using just numbers, let's go with the Americans just this once and agree that Wednesday, February 1, 2012, shall be written out as mm-dd-yy.  That way, we can celebrate 2-1-12, or "Rush Day."

Like many fans of progressive metal, I was introduced to that world through Rush's 1976 album, 2112.  I, along with like-minded freaks across the world, will be blasting both sides of the album for much of Wednesday. I may also re-read Ayn Rand's Anthem, just to cover all my bases.

Resistance is futile.  We have assumed control.

A band that has an official day named after them, yet they're not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Go figure.
