One of the most thunderous singles of the 20th century will be re-released, expanded and repackaged in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of its release.
When it first came out on May 27, 1977, it was during Queen Elizabeth's Silver Jubilee and riled up monarchists on at least two occasions to beat the snot out of some Pistols with things like pipes and switchblades. (Johnny Lydon hasn't been able to play guitar since then because the assault caused irreparable damage to some tendons in his hand).
The song was hugely popular but stalled at #2 on the British charts as the result (it is alleged) of pressure to keep it from appearing in the top spot.
Just what they mean by "expanded and repackaged" is unknown, but I'm sure we'll hear more soon.
