Suddenly, a New Tragically Hip Song

From my conversations with a couple members of the Hip last year, there was every indication that a new album would appear in October.  "We want to have something out by the end of 2011," they said.

Then...nothing.  Until today.

A new song called "At Transformation" will make its debut on Hockey Night in Canada just before game seven of the Capitals/Rangers series (how Canadian, eh?)  The full version of the song will be service to Canadian radio on Thursday.

Something had to be in the works because the Hip have some pretty high-profile gigs already scheduled for the summer.  And it's been a while since the last album, right?

And before you ask, I haven't heard anything about an album title or a release date.  Anyone willing to start any rumours?

it's a shame they couldn't have released the album in time for summer... cottage season and the hip go together like beer and pizza
