Anyone Else Trying ThisIsMyJam?
I know, I know. The last thing any of us needs is ANOTHER social network to maintain. I mean, when was the last time you looked at your Google+ account?
Still, I thought I'd give ThisIsMyJam a whirl. Creating and sharing a playlist is a snap. Finding people/organizations to follow is easy (I'm starting with some British music writers and Amanda Palmer). Audio quality is good. And it's 100% free.
I'd be interested in your thoughts about the service.

I started using it a couple months back and since joining, I've had very few problems with it (I am hoping a future update gives some alternative to forcing me to search the internet for a cover image for songs I pick from Hype Machine/SoundCloud but that's a minor nitpick and not easily fixed).
I thought for certain bands would set up accounts, spam their music and start following a ton of people but in the few months I've been on there, the closest I've seen to that happening was one band who chose their own track amidst a few dozen other tracks they had been playing for weeks beforehand. They got called out on it and were deeply apologetic for it. So it seems, at least during this beta phase, the people are keeping it clean of spam.
For the most part, I've come across a lot of great music through the service and found quite a few people with musical tastes that are quite similar. Since you have about 5 days before the site sends you an email to update your jam, the base level for involvement isn't much. Like other social networks sites, the more involved you are the more you'll get out of it, so commenting on other people's jams and liking jams gives you a feeling of being more involved.
tl;dr I think it's a great site
