Holly McNarland Tries the Kickstarter Route

Kickstarter, the site that offers artists and entrepreneurs a chance to fund their next project through crowdsourcing, is a big hit.  (In case you've been in a coma, read all about Amanda Palmer's latest triumph.)

Holly McNarland would like to try something similar.  Her new album, Run Body Run, is very good.  Now she'd like to raise money for an indie animated short for the title track.  The film, based on a painting by Toronto artist Jamie Bennett (it's also the artwork for the album), will be directed by Mark Pullybank, Holly's former bass player.  He's since worked on films like Avatar.

Read all about the project here.  And if you're interested, please contribute.
