Smashing Pumpkins "Oceania" Out Today

I've had the record for about a week now and I can honestly say it's the best thing Billy has done in well over a decade.  If you bailed on the Pumpkins at the end of the 20th century, this would be a very good time to jump back in.

And you don't necessarily have to commit to buying the CD or the download.  Just head over to the band's Facebook page and choice from all kinds of special events, ranging from in-person listening parties to learn about online events with Soundcloud, Ustream, Rdio, AOL and more.

If you do choose to buy, the Smashing Pumpkins store has some interesting bundles for sale.

Is it me or does Billy have a fetish with female bass players? We remember D'Arcy in the original seminal Pumpkins lineup, and then there was Zwan and Paz Lenchantin. Now the Pumpkins are back and there's Nicole Fiorentino holding down the bass beat. Maybe it is not a fetish but a mere coincidence? Whatever, good going Billy!
