Dead Can Dance, Uh, Rise from the Dead. Dancing Once Again Imminent.

I discovered the otherworld Gothiness of Dead Can Dance through their 1988 album, The Serpent's Egg. I bought all their CDs until...well, until died and stopped dancing.

The last DCD record was Spiritchaser in 1996.  Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry went their separate ways and that was that.

But there's been a resurrection.  A new album called Anatasis-- from the Greek word ανάστασις (anástasis) meaning "resurrection," of course--will be out later this year.  Give a listen to this sample from the record.

Yep, going to see them at the Sony Centre in August. Their music helped me write a trilogy, and time will tell whether it helped quite enough--publishers looking at the first of the books right now.

I believe they may have a free stream of the album on their website if people are looking for a preview. I'm buying the album either way.
