New Music Book Series Coming from Warner Music

I miss liner notes.  Digital files are wonderfully convinient and portable, but they lack the written information that we used to get with CDs and vinyl.  Rhino Records realizes this, so they're moving to fix the problem.

They call the series Single Notes, a collection of short form ebooks that will cover a variety of topics including the Beastie Boys, the Grateful Dead and Duran Duran.  When the first batch goes on sale June 12, they'll cost $1.99 through Amazon's Kindle store and Apple's iBookstore.

To get everyone started, they're offering a free download of My Life in the Ghost of Planets: The Story of a CBGB Almost-Was, which tells the story of an alt-rock wannabe that never was.  Check out the trailer below.
