The Return of The Wife Says

[My wife occasionally demands space on this site.  Who am I to say no? - AC]

A couple of people have written wondering where I’ve been. Thanks to my dad and brother for noticing. I’ve been busy.  This blog is my husband’s thing and I am careful not to encroach. He does fine without me, though I do point out the occasional typo and send him links for story ideas.

What have I been busy with? Work. Crazy hours. Life. If you’ve been following Alan, you know he’s been around the world in the past couple of months:  Singapore, London, L.A., Calgary and Vancouver. That means I have to be both mother and father to the bereft English Bull Terrier. Not easy when the dog longs for ‘the guy.”

Also, I’ve been busy writing. My first novel is up on Amazon. It’s called St. Bart’s. I’m not happy with the result. Something happened during the convergence from my write to the e-book version and it ended up printing some lines twice. I like the book itself, though looking back I could have done better.

That’s what happens when you write. Nothing is ever finished, ever perfect. You always want to fix and edit. I have two more books ready to go-same subject. Sven and Sunny, a pair of love-crossed lovers. I warn anybody whose ever read the Fifty Shades series, this is totally different.

First of all, I can actually write a complete sentence. I don’t care how much money E.L. James has made, she’s worse than a hack. I can’t believe she got an agent and a publishing deal for that load of trite.  Even my first draft had better character development than her published trilogy. This sounds bitter and envious and okay, take it that way if you want, but it’s also true. If you want erotica you can do better. [As a like-minded friend says, "Step up your porn, ladies!" - AC]

Ann Rice did a series on S&M about Sleeping Beauty that was miles above the Fifty Shades crap. It’s not the subject matter, it’s the execution. I also hate the fact her novels are nothing but fan fiction, based on the Twilight characters. For the amount of money she’s made, it should have been original.

Anyway, that’s where I’ve been. What I’ve been doing. Living. Looking after the homefront. Working. And most of all writing. If you want to check out some better sexy beach read, check out my novel  St. Bart’s by Emme Cross. Do me a favour and post a comment. Good or bad buzz can’t hurt.
