How to Record Internet Radio Content for Free

When I was growing up, I kept a cassette player next to the radio so when my favourite song came on, I could tape it.  Of course, this kind of behavior drove record labels and publishers crazy--yet it was something virtually all kids did.

Fast-forward into the 21st century.  Internet radio is everywhere.  Wouldn't it be nice to have the same sort of recording ability?  (Record industry:  I'm obviously not talking to you here.)
