U2's Adam Clayton Gets a Measure of Justice: Former PA Sentenced to 7 Years
Late last month, Adam Clayton's former personal assistant was convicted on 181 counts of embezzlement. Carol Hawkins learned of her sentence yesterday.
For her indiscretions involving designer clothing, a car, first-class airline tickets (including a set that cost $24,000), university education for her kids, a car and 22 (!!!) thoroughbred horses, Hawkins will serve 7 years.
She's also been ordered to hand over any profits she gets from the last of an apartment in NYC. That's a small measure of compensation against the $3.6 million she stole.
Everything I've read says that Adam met Hawkins while she and her husband were managing a "small hotel on a sleepy Caribbean island." Anyone know what hotel and what island?
