Sonos Erotica: It Sounds Like...Well, You Know
You've probably heard about Kickstarter by now. It's the site that helps artists and entrepreneurs crowdsource funds of their projects. It's how Amanda Palmer famously raised over $1 million that's now resolving itself into an album, a tour and a series of special events.
Then there's Offbeatr, which is similar to Kickstarter--except that it helps people raise money for sex-related project--or, as they term it "crowdfunding for festish communities and the adult industry." (Before you click through to Offbeatr, just be advised that it's obviously quite NSFW.)
But it's not all butt plugs and joy juice. Alyson Ash has a BA in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and a co-founder of something called the Erotic Hack Space of Minneapolis. She wants $20,000 in support to create something called Sonos Erotica. I quote:
Sonos Erotica is a website offering professionally produced, erotic audio downloads for purchase. With a range of content from solo to partnered, male with male, female with female, female with male, from vanilla to light S&M. It's sexual "theatre verité." Sonos Erotica features soundtracks of sex provided by real people, our players, who allow a microphone into their sexual space.
If this sort of thing floats your boat, you now can get in on the ground floor of this, uh, enterprise. Just sayin'.
