Wow. That was lame.
Well - I've heard that song a dozen times before but every time I've always changed the channel before it could finish. The song is such a sell-out. Only the thought of seeing some nudity induced me to listen to it all the way to the end for the first time. I agree with Micheal Moniz's previous comment: Wow. That was lame.
I rarely watch music videos anymore, but if Green Day is going to push the limits and make a NSFW video it should be something shocking. Well, it was. Who is the 4th member of Green Day playing guitar on the left? I thought they were a trio!
It really takes a lot of effort to have a band, a video and it's participants obviously trying so hard and achieving so little. Trying to be sexy but yawn...trying to look cool but looking like they are playing dress up in someone else's closet, trying to be shocking but being quite boring and contrived. I worry this "NSFW" video is emblematic of what Green Day has become; a band that was once 'dangerous' to the mainstream, failing in it's attempts to standout in the mainstream. 13 year old boys will like it because "hey look boobies" near the end of the video but for me it's all very pedestrian.
