Heads Up: Wednesday is "Freddie for a Day" Day

This caught me by surprise, too.  Were he still alive, Wednesday, September 5, would have been Freddie Mercury's 66th birthday.

To acknowledge that, there's an international campaign called "Freddie for a Day" which is designed to commemorate this by dressing up like Freddie to raise money.

The beneficiary is the Mercury Phoenix Trust, an organization that fights HIV/AIDs--which, of course, is what felled Freddie.

In case you're a little stuck on how to dress up Freddie-style, there's a "What to Wear" page as well as a YouTube channel dedicated to supporters.

By the way, the picture at the right displays a get-up known as "bat wing Freddie."
