Morrissey "The Ramones Are Rubbish!"
The Internet is a crazy thing. It can shed light on long-forgotten arcane history. Take the case of a young Steve Morrisey of Kings Road, Stretford, Manchester. In the years before he lost his first name and became the lead singer of The Smiths, he was a rather prolific letter writer. A number of his missives appeared in the various British music papers.
Dangerous Minds reminds of a letter to the editor that was published in Melody Maker on July 24, 1976, three weeks after the Ramones made their British debut at the Roundhouse in London. That show, by the way, is considered to be the thing that kicked the British punk movement into high gear.

And yet another reason why I can't stand Morrissey! Well at least we know his self-righteousness was there from right from his youth.
This was great! Good for him, The Ramones were utter utter trash.
This is what basically happens when a writer is stuck in his bedroom all day
