What If You Could Make a CD Smell Like a Pizza?

If you can do it with a DVD, then it'll work with a CD.  John found this story about a special promotion by Domino's in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Takeout pizza and a DVD are a natural fit for many. So Domino's Pizza in Brazil decided to combine the two in a campaign via Artplan Sao Paolo.

In partnership with ten video rental stores in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the brand used rented DVDs as media. About ten discs each of ten different new release titles such as Argo, 007, Dread And Dark Knight were stamped with thermal ink and flavored varnish, both sensitive to the heat. While people were watching the movie, the heat of the DVD player affected the disc. When the movie ended and they ejected the disc, they smelled pizza. They also saw pizza: the discs were printed to look like mini pies, and carried the message: "Did you enjoy the movie? The next one will be even better with a hot and delicious Domino's Pizza."

More here.  And now, the video.

Kayne Debuts New Song with Projections on Buildings

He may be a bit of a tool, but there's no question that the guy can be very innovative. From Billboard:

In a typically innovative move, Kanye West has launched his highly anticipated sixth studio album by unveiling a new song and visual from the full-length via images being projected on 66 buildings scattered around the globe.

"NEW SONG AND VISUAL FROM MY NEW ALBUM BEING PROJECTED TONIGHT ACROSS THE GLOBE ON 66 BUILDINGS," West posted on Twitter on Friday night (May 17). He also linked to his web site, which features a map of the world with cities like New York, Miami, London, Paris and Sydney all assigned specific locations and times in which the video will be projected.

11 Museums Devoted to Musicians (and One Extra)

There's been some excitement over the opening of the ABBA museum in Stockholm. This may raise the question about other museums dedicated to musicians.

Mental Floss has a list of 11 such places (including the ABBA place).  And while it does include a shrine to the Ramones, it misses the very excellent Ramones museum in Berlin. I've been--and I have a lifetime membership.

As I Lay Dying Frontman's Defense? Roid Rage

In case you haven't been following the story, As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested for allegedly trying to find a hitman to take out his estranged wife, Meggan.  His mistake (allegedly) was to propose this plan to an undercover detective at his gym.

Ah, the gym.  From NBC in San Diego:

Lambesis was voted “Most Like Jesus” by classmates when he attended Santa Fe Christian High School as a teen. He was a religious studies major in college and “desperately loves his children,” according to his lawyer.

[Lambesis' attorney Tim] Warwick said Lambesis’ troubles began when he got into bodybuilding and “gym culture.”

The frontman started taking supplements, then steroids, that led to what Warwick referred to as “changes in his physiological and mental status.”

He went from 170 to 220-pounds and in his attorney’s words, “Was not the same person. He was irritable and lost God.” A forensic psychiatrist who consulted with the defense said Lambesis got “roid rage” after using steroids.

His attorney said Lambesis is now off steroids, going through withdrawal, and in total isolation in jail for protection from other inmates. He’s also getting personal counseling from a jail chaplain.

And there's plenty more.
