Weirdest Use for "We Are the World" Ever

Those crazy North Koreans.  Over the weekend, they posted this YouTube video of a fantasy missile attack on the United States.  Why they would use "We Are the World" for the soundtrack is beyond me.

Not only are they violating copyright on "We Are the World," it looks like they may have appropriated a little Modern Warfare 3, too.

Owners Can't Sell House Where Brian Jones Died

You'd think that selling the country house where A.A. Milne wrote Winnie the Pooh in 1925 would be easy. Maybe--if Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones hadn't died in the swimming pool a little more than 60 years later.

It's been up for sale for £2 million but there have been no takers.  Sounds like a case for Phil and Kirstie on BBC's Location, Location, Location.

Queen B: Silencing Critics at the Super Bowl

[Contributor Juliette Jagger reports on the whole Beyonce thing. - AC]

Since it came out that Beyoncé lip-synched “The Star-Spangled Banner” at President Obama’s 2nd Inauguration last month, the press has been all over the story hounding for an explanation. Let’s be real here, Barack Obama is the hippest pop culture president in history and Beyoncé is an international caliber pop star, having her lip-sync the national anthem while 20 million people tuned in to watch this historically momentous event, was simply a strategic move on the part of her team and a smart one at that.

Any idiot could forget the lyrics to the American national anthem; in fact people do it all the time. Lip-synching was a precautionary measure taken to prevent an even bigger shit storm than the one that came of people finding out she sang to a backing track.

I Like This: Fat Goth

Fat Goth is a three-piece from Dundee, Scotland. Did they get their name from some of the online gathering places for obsese members of the goth community?  Weirdly, all three members seem rather svelt. And they don't have a deathly palour.

More Music from the Inbox, 05 February 2013: Ariane Moffatt, Stefaloo, Midnight Spin, Kinksi and Stubborn Heart

By Scott Jones

Artist: Ariane Moffatt

Album: MA Remix

Ms. Moffatt delivers a nice take on what is left to be desired in a relationship. The pumping retro feel, slick production, along with her calm, smooth vocals adds the desire to dance while riding on a bicycle. Just remember, folks: Don’t let the accompanying music video fool you and set a bad example. While attractive, it’s highly dangerous for this many women to be riding the streets of Montreal with nary a visible light on the front of their bikes.

Sounds like: Bouncy ‘80s synth pop on two wheels.
