I've been playing drums for decades. In my basement is an 11-piece Tama kit adorned with nine cymbals which, back in the day, was considered HUGE.
But then there's Mark Temperato. He's a little silly.
His kit is made up of 813 pieces and requires 17 hours a maintenance a week. Go to Yahoo for more including a video.
I keep running across stories about The Hum, a mysterious low frequency sound not unlike a deep rumble or drone from a diesel engine. It's heard only indoors and is louder at night and is much more common in rural areas.
Never heard it? Don't be surprised. Only 2% of the population is apparently sensitive enough to pick up on it--and they just want it to stop.
Those who hear it complain of headaches, dizziness, nausea and nosebleeds. And because The Hum is louder at night, they can't sleep.
The Hum's cause (assuming it's real) is unknown, despite scientific inquiry. Is it a form of tinnitus? Earplugs don't work, so that could point to something neurological. Then again, audio has been captured (see video below), so maybe that's not it at all.
Is it emissions from industry? Some kind of electrical interference? Aliens? A Sunn O))) concert? No one knows.
From an advice column in Britain's Mirror:
This may sound like a silly or made-up problem, but it’s not.
My husband has become obsessed with Justin Bieber.
And I mean obsessed.
He spends all day online reading stories about him and talking about him, and now he wants to see him in concert and take me!
He’s also shown other behaviour that’s odd, like growing a very odd mullet haircut and spending a lot of money on Bieber merchandise as well.
I find it odd, not just because of who he likes, but the fact that he’s put everything else aside in his life for this obsession.
It’s OK to be a fan, but not to the detriment of everything else.
He is even talking about quitting his job, so he can go and work with Justin, and even wants us to live near him in America.
We have a grown-up son of 21 and he’s become really concerned about his dad. He said it seems so out of character and he’s right.
We are both very worried for him. What can we do?
Is this some sort of midlife crisis, or is he having some kind of breakdown?
